We took Black Rose on the road last weekend to the Kokomo-Con in (where else) Kokomo, Indiana. The con was smaller than Summit City, but they gave us a pretty nice booth setup and we got to meet a lot of cool new fans. More pics below!

The 501st was out in force, including an awesome ARC Trooper and one Stormtrooper with a bloody bullet hole in his helmet who staggered around the con to hilarious effect. Here Chris and I run afoul of a Shock Trooper and Sandtrooper.

This cute little Dorothy (here holding a She-Ra sketch from Aaron) engaged Chris and I in a battle of doodling. I think my Ice Cream Robot won the day…

We debuted Issue 2 at the con and sold a nice number of both our books, but for those of you who don’t live in central Indiana, good news! We’ve just overhauled the Black Rose site with a slick new facelift – including an online store! Yes, you can purchase issues and art prints direct from us via the power of the intertrons.

Soap box time. Black Rose is, at least for the moment, very much an underground/indie comic. It’s a labor of love for us, but we really want to get this book out there to as many people as possible – and right now that means word of mouth. If you like what I’ve been posting here, check out our site, consider picking up one of our books, or re-blog this to some of your friends. We can use all the fans we can get!

I’ve been doing a lot of pitch work lately, which unfortunately means that I can’t throw it up on here until/unless said pitch wins the work. But there are still one or two major announcements in store before the end of the year, so stay tuned! Big things on the way…
