As someone who works in a variety of creative mediums — visual arts like illustration and design, as well as writing and even singing — I draw inspiration from all over, and am constantly on the lookout for new art, music, movies, and books to devour.

I started the Rad People portrait series in June 2008 as both an exercise to improve my portrait skills and a way to say thanks to the many creative people who have inspired me, in some way or other, over the years. The series is ongoing and I hope to continue it for quite some time.

Each portait was done in oil pastel and colored digitally. Many have a subtle overlaid image, usually referencing the subject's work in some way. The background is intentionally kept clean to keep focus solely on the subject.
